At Beyond a Candy Table, we believe every celebration deserves more than just sweets—it deserves a story.

Our journey began over 20 years ago when founders Fran Santiago and Vickie McCain first met while working at one of the largest defense contractors in the world. At the time, Vickie was Fran’s manager, and together they served members of Congress as information technology consultants. What started as a strong professional relationship soon grew into a lifelong friendship.

The inspiration for Beyond a Candy Table came when Vickie’s father turned 90. She wanted to honor his life uniquely, and Fran had recently seen a candy table at a friend’s party. Together, they decided to create something different—something personal.

Instead of a traditional candy display, they designed a table that reflected his life as both a farmer and an asphalt company owner. The table was decorated with vegetables, gardening tools, trucks, and candies shaped like fruits and shovels, all accented with photos and mementos. The display told his story so vividly that even guests who had never met him walked away feeling as though they knew him.

That was the moment Beyond a Candy Table was born.

Today, Fran and Vickie create custom memorabilia tables accented with sweets and desserts that capture the essence of every person or organization they celebrate. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, corporate event, or milestone celebration, each table is designed to be as unique as the story it tells.
